Let me tell you, it is NOT easy to sew when you have a kitty that wants to inspect every seam. The task master!
Well, CURTAINS! I found this fabulous fabric (yellow! a tiny bit shiny) at Marden's in Maine. When they say "you should have bought it when you saw it at Marden's" they are absolutely correct. I found the fabic for a dollar a yard. A STEAL!!! The entire fabric for the curtains was around $12.00 for all FOUR PANELS. The ball fringe on the edge cost more than the actual fabric. Incredible!
Below is a close up of the ball fringe on the edge of the curtain. Don't you just love ball fringe? There is something so cheerful about it. I just smile every time I see these curtains.
I did a simple curtain with your basic sleeve and then added ball fringe on the edge. It took me a few hours and they are LOVELY! The way the light streams in through the yellow curtains in the morning. So fantastic!
PILLOW CASES: Link below
The other sewing project I did was to make pillow cases for my bed.
I used Anna Griffith's Fido and Fifi fabric on these. They had just the right blend of 1970s and modern. I also found the fabric at Marden's in Maine for about $4.00 a yard. Really, if you are in the Maine area check it out. It has more than just fabric but it's the fabric that keeps me coming back.
So far all the projects have met the NYE seal of approval! Thank goodness because he is such a demanding client!
