NH Literacy Day

We had the best time at the NH Literacy Day, as we have for the last 4 years.  It's a day where kids get to walk around a local high school and collect books in a room.  Each room is sponsored by an organization or business and also has something to draw kids in like animals, or legos, or the local weatherman.  They also have free food, a firetruck, and a racecar.  This is really the best thing going.  The only negative is that it is PACKED because everyone in the local area has realized how incredible this event is.  I think I took over 30 pictures so here is a collage of our morning ( I limited my sharing to 15):
From left to right, top to bottom 1. Phoebe and El meet the big turtle 2. and pat it.  3. The hedgehog 4. the owl 5. a book about Volcanoes- El is in heaven (and signed by local weatheraman) 6. This is what it would look like if we homeschooled El and Phe (ha, ha) 7. El wanted a picture with the shark 8. and the lobster.  Phoebe was scared out of her mind by the people in costumes. 9. Another science lesson on hawks. 10. Which book do I choose?  11. An owl feather  12. El as a fireman  13. The racecar  14. Phoebe was decked out in her new strawberry dress (she got lots of attention for it and was happy as a clam). 15. El and Phe in the ambulance.

And this is only a fraction of what we did.  SO MUCH FUN!
